Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen within a leading MGA in the City for an Actuary. The successful candidate with report and work closely with the Chief Actuary in a small and successful team.

The purpose of this role will be to lead the quarterly reserve process, support pricing and analytics, assess profitability of business lines and project profit commission receipts.

You will be required to:

  • Develop solutions to complex actuarial problems, within timeframes.
  • Cultivate effective working relationships with senior stakeholders, underwriting, claims, finance etc.
  • Develop pricing and analytics capabilities 
  • Support the streamlining of a quarterly process for assessing ULRs and modelling profit commissions

·Provide support in the development of the Actuarial Data Warehouse as the main source of reserving data and as a potential repository for actuarial assumptions and results.

·Integrate technical pricing and rate monitoring into the reserving process.

·Carry out ad-hoc reviews of individual lines

  • Assist with business planning, challenging where necessary

·Develop MI to include reserving, pricing and business analytics.

·Manage one direct report and support their professional development

You will have:

·Strong knowledge of the general insurance market with London Market experience

·Excellent IT skills to include Excel, VBA, SQL and SAS.

·Ability to communicate verbally to a variety of audiences including non-technical

·Experience of developing and improving actuarial models (data specification and reconciliation, testing and documentation)

·First or 2.1 Degree in Mathematics or Science.

·Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries or Equivalent
