- Description
- A City-based Hedge Fund start up in early phases of development and plans to add 50 staff to the workforce by the end of this initial phase, is seeking to recruit a COO. The position holder will be the ultimate reporting line for all fund and office operations.
Core Function of the role
- Work closely working with CIO and CRO on all business aspects
- Ensure smooth hedge fund operations, including but not limited to preparing FRR, budgeting reports, full set of financial statement, fund audits, trade processing, AML/KYC check, subscription/redemption request, etc.
- Review, streamline and improve the current operation process
- Be the key reporting line for Finance & operation, IT and HR functions - setting up targets, procedures, maintaining the operations and being the one of the decision makers
- Work closely with auditors, banks, lawyers, PBs and other service providers
- Relevant experience gained in a start-up function with experience setting processes up from scratch, would be preferred, but not essential
- Recent relevant experience working at COO level, or similar
- Excellent knowledge of hedge fund operation process
- Strong technical and analytical skill set with the ability to understand and construct the financial and operational infrastructure of the firm
- Hands-on and can-do mentality and entrepreneurial mindset
