- Description
- A start-up hedge fund based in the City is seeking to recruit an experienced compliance professional to undertake the role of Chief Compliance Officer. The post of CCO is a varied role that will have exposure to regulators in the US. The successful candidate will need a solid experience in working in a trading or hedge fund environment at CCO / Compliance Director level, or similar.
Main Responsibilities
- The provision of support and advice to the business on all regulatory matters. Development and implementation of all aspects of the companies Compliance policies and procedures and supporting the enforcement of all applicable regulatory policies applicable to the business unit.
- Design monitoring and oversight programmes and to carry out the compliance monitoring program to establish ongoing compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.
- Policy formulation and review
- Act as the main point of contact for all external regulators
- Conduct due diligence of clients, counterparties for purposes of general KYC, AML and anti-corruptionrequirements.
- Trade Oversight (including analysing trades, newproducts and new systems)
- Supporting the marketing function by reviewing marketing materials and other related materials.
- Ensure company-wide compliance training is kept up-to-date
- Project management across all Compliance and Regulatory requirements
Job Requirements:
• Previous compliance experience gained at a similar CCO / Director level with experience in a hedge fund environment
• Understanding of SEC regulations would be highly desirable
• Experience of developing and implementing polices, procedures and documentation from scratch
