- Description
- An excellent opportunity has arisen within a City-based challenger bank for a Financial Controller to join their Finance Team. Working to support the Head of Finance, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial control, reporting and production control functions. The role requires a driven and confident Financial Controller to manage and improve the Bank’s internal and financial controls.
Duties will include:
- Managing the daily reporting, month-end and quarter-end close process including review and approval of the journal entries, consolidation of subsidiaries
- Oversight of the accounts payable function
- Preparation of month-end report and management accounts
- Forecasting the financial results monthly
- Contribute to overall strategy and project delivery
- Completing statuary, year end and tax audits
- Assisting with the development and execution of the taxation strategy and ensure returns for Corporation tax, VAT and other relevant taxes are submitted, payments made on time and all relevant regulations are complied with
- Oversight and improvement of internal controls across the Bank’s Finance department
- Oversight and improvement of financial control over the subsidiaries
- Provide Daily / Weekly / Monthly / Quarterly reports in a timely manner
- Assist with projects to include new-system implementation and reporting re-design
