- Description
- An exciting new Hedge Fund start up with plans to launch in January 2021 is looking for a high-performing Data Analyst to join the company. Based in offices in the City of London, the successful candidate will be required analyse and report risk relating to trading activities whilst developing and enhancing these functions, in addition to supporting risk-related projects. The fund trades across multiple asset classes and data will form a significant contributor to its performance.
This fund has a clear plan for growth and scale and therefore the right candidate for this role will be willing to get involved with the grass roots of the company and help shape the data function. Applicants must demonstrate a strong understanding of how organisations manage, source and consume data together with a passion for increasing the accuracy and value of data.
Duties will include:
- Develop a strong understanding of the organisation’s trading performance, the key underlying drivers, and the presentation of this to the relevant business stakeholders.
- Coordinate with Operations, IT, Trading and Compliance teams to develop and implement data reporting strategies and framework
- Assist in the design and to help monitor the operating effectiveness of the reporting framework, escalating reporting issues as necessary
- Adapt the data architecture frameworks models with the growth of the trading activity
- Creating and supporting data framework and strategies
- Create a superior data management function to support the growth strategy and support the senior management team and business unit by furnishing them with risk reporting analyses, reviews,
- recommendations, and advice in respect of business operations and strategies.
- Help to run an enterprise risk reporting framework, including risk control strategy and risk appetite statements; cascade risk limits; monitor compliance and escalate any material breaches (subject to regulatory requirements).
- Create a consistent understanding of data management throughout trading / asset management / investments activities.
- Daily aggregation, validation, and monitoring of risk data reporting across business functions.
Requirements for the role:
- Advanced MS Office skills – particularly Excel
- Excellent analytical and data treatment skills
- Experience building, automating, and maintaining data flow
- Excellent skills in Power Bi and code languages are ESSENTIAL
- Advanced SQL, Python, Power Bi and VBA skills. Expert mastering of R would be an advantage.
- Proven experience of implementing on going risk reporting systems across business functions is an advantage.
- Knowledge of the Investments Adviser Act of 1940, Dodd–Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, MIFID, MIFID II, other ESMA regulations, FCA PERG would bean advantage
The successful candidate for this role will have strong sound data coding abilities and this will be tested during the interview process.
