- Description
- City-based start-up hedge fund launching in January 2021 is looking to make a Risk and Control Analyst hire to its London office.
You will work within a risk management team that are viewed as an extension to front office, facing off to a team of portfolio managers & traders. The successful candidate will assist with the development and enhancement of risk reporting and control, strategies working in collaboration with Operations, IT, Trading and Compliance.
You will also be required to:
- Assist with the running of the enterprise risk reporting framework (to include risk control strategy and risk appetite statements, cascade risklimits, monitor compliance and escalate any material breaches (subject to regulatory requirements))
- Monitor the key risk policies (including regulatory, legal, compliance, cyber risk, AML, fraud, operational and credit risk), champion the enterprise risk management policy and risk policies for all key risk categories.
- Create a consistent understanding of risk throughout the US division and trading / asset management / investments activities.
- Report risk positions, limit breaches, and stress testing results for firm management and regulatory compliance.
This is a company where there is a keen focus on technology, given this, candidates are expected to have excellent coding skills which will be tested during the interview process.
Applicants will ideally have 2 years risk management experience working for an investment bank, brokerage or another hedge fund and educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline with significant experience and achievement in trading risk management.
Knowledge of the Investments Adviser Act of 1940, Dodd–Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, MIFID, MIFID II, other ESMA regulations, FCA PERG and structural applications of these regulations in highly complex cross border structures is an advantage.
Please note that this role will be entirely office-based. There will be no remote / home working option available for this role.
