- Description
- City-based start-up hedge fund launching in January 2021 is looking to hire a hire a skilled and knowledgeable Risk and Control professional, as they build out their risk function in theLondon office.
You will be responsible for analysing and reporting risk relating to trading activities, supporting risk management projects delivery and assisting key stakeholders to enhance risk management across trading activities and wider business functions.
Duties to include:
- Analysis and reporting of the firm's risk positions and limit breaches
- Preparation and presentation of accurate and detailed risk reporting
- Manage trading exposure and limits for Portfolio Managers;
- Extensive interaction portfolio managers, traders and senior management
- Liaison with technology, operations and trading to develop and enhance automation, controls and reporting functions and implement risk management strategies and framework
- Create a consistent understanding of risk throughout the US division and trading / asset management / investments activities.
- Identification and investigation of changes to risk profile, including analysis of VaR and stress drivers. Communication of findings to management.
- Reviewing new transaction requests, identifying, and assessing the key risk issues, including capital impacts.
- Performance of stress testing.
- 5 years relevant experience at either bank, fund or trading firm
- Expertise in market risk, performance analytics, statistical analysis and stress testing
- Experience with process automation and re/engineering
- Degree (or equivalent) in engineering/math/statistics or similar
- Advanced coding skills – these will be tested during the interview process
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
