- Description
- City-based challenger bank is seeking to strengthen it’s risk function with the addition of a credit risk / analytics professional. Working to support the home loans arm if the business, the successful candidate will be responsible for building statistical credit risk models to provide crucial data into the loan portfolio.
What you will be doing:
- Developing statistical credit risk models including, origination and behavioural scorecards, Basel (PD, LGD, EAD) for approval in the next few years, impairment (IFRS9) and stress testing models.
- Responsibility of model documentation, implementation and subsequent monitoring
- Responsibility for analysing portfolio trends and making recommendations for changes and improvements to product range, application process, strategy design and operations processes.
- Building and developing analytical capability within the organisation to design, monitor and enhance credit risk strategies and policies.
- Develop an analytical and reporting framework that supports broader enterprise-wide activities such as business plan stress testing.
- Any other duties commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility of this post, for which the post holder has the necessary experience and/or training.
Skills required:
- You must have excellent quantitative and problem-solving skills, using analytical methods to provide practical solutions.
- Knowledge of building models and scorecards for a residential finance provider
- Knowledge of using credit bureau data in risk analysis
- Experience of credit risk/analytics roles
- Knowledge of residential finance
- Knowledge of IFRS 9 provisioning process (desirable)
- Hands on experience and solid knowledge of analysis software languages. SAS is a must have, Palisade at Risk is a plus
- Highly proficient using Excel and other analysis tools
- Statistical background to produce reporting and models
- Excellent communication skills and ability to convey complex ideas/insights to non-technical members of the team
