- Description
- A city-based international bank is strengthening their front office team for commercial banking with the addition of a Relationship Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting commercial banking function, intermediating between the Bank and its customers in assessing and meeting their specific and overall banking requirements. The purpose of the role is to market a full range of Banking products to commercial customers, whilst growing the portfolio of clients.
The jobholder is responsible for:
- Providing day-to-day service to commercial customers, ensuring high levels of customer service, accuracy and pace
- Developing and enhancing the profitability of customer relationships to the extent possible
- Establishing new customer relationships
- Assisting in monitoring and management of client portfolios positioning and provide client perspective into product development
- Providing advice to customers on the full range of the Bank's products and, with the assistance of product specialists where necessary, explaining the products' uses, comparative advantages and risks and their associated operational and documentation requirements
- Liaising with Compliance to ensure that all new and updated client relationships undergo the appropriate levels of client identification and verification, due diligence, sanction screening and documentary approvals
- Remaining current on market trends and related regulatory developments, ensuring that the Bank continues to address customer needs through product innovation and development and that all significant business opportunities are reported to and followed up by the appropriate transaction team or product specialist
Requirements for the role:
• General knowledge of commercial banking products, services, and markets
• Strong direct sales or relationship management experience
• Demonstrated excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Strong problem solving skills that enable quick identification and efficient resolution of issues
• Highly collaborative individual with ability to influence others and build strong professional relationships
• Able to develop creative solutions to meet client needs and identify cross-product opportunities
