- Global financial services organisation is seeking to strengthen their PMO for infrastructure with the addition of a Project Coordinator. The successful candidate will have experience of working in a telecoms / datacentre environment in a similar project capacity. Working on a range of projects (eg. new builds, enhancements and decommissions of network and communications infrastructure) the successful candidate will be responsible for working with engineers and managers to ensure the timely completion of all project task assignments while continuously identifying opportunities for process improvement. You will also be tasked with tracking project requirements and creating delivery plans.
Applicants must be experienced project coordinators, or have similar experience working in a technical infrastructure delivery role within information technology & telecommunications. The role reports into the PMO Director based in Australia and as such, you will be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and unsupervised in a globally dispersed team. The nature of the role will require occasional evening or weekend work in order to liaise with global teams.
What you will be doing:
- Ensure on time completion of all project task assignments while acting as a key point of contact in the coordination of infrastructure delivery activities
- Accurately indicate task status for all assigned projects in the project management tool
- Creating and updating detailed project plans, including cross-functional delivery plans, arranging and coordinating required sub project meeting
- Planning and organising project meetings, preparing agendas, make notes, chase action points and ensure that work streams are running in line with project plans
- Managing and reporting on project risks and progress effectively (creating and updating Issue & Risk logs).
- Coordinate the storage and flow of all documents in line with standard guidelines, policies and procedures as well as maintain filed folders to keep projects moving
- Maintain friendly and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders through clear articulation and an effective communication style
- Liaising with stakeholders to coordinate status meetings and preparing progress reports
Requirements for the role:
- Experience as a Project Coordinator or related work experience (telecoms / datacentre / infrastructure delivery) and administering project particulars
- Understanding of PMO processes, standards and governance
- Proven experience in stakeholder management, providing service to internal stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes, ability to liaise with stakeholder at all levels
- Educated to degree level, or equivalent
- Excellent time management, organisational skills with the ability and desire to meet project, task, and/or assignment deadlines
- Extreme focus on accuracy, attention to detail and consistency of work
- Experience working in Financial Services would be highly desirable, although not essential
