- Exciting opportunity to join a leading international banking group based in the City as part of their Commodities Team.
This is fantastic opportunity with great career development opportunities – applicants must have previous commodities dealing experience as the successful candidate will be dealing in (not limited to) oil, refined products, energy, power, base metals and precious metals.
The purpose of the role will be to identify and develop trading strategies in commodities markets with a particular interest in power (electricity). The role is also responsible for hedging and providing market advice.
Responsibilities:
- Trade a book and deliver on budgeted revenues and manage book risk
- Establish and maintain key relationships to deliver trades to the desk
- Anticipate client demand in each respective product/market
- Develop commodities market analysis and modelling to support trade ideas
- Present solutions tailored to the customers’ requirements
- Proactively keep clients up to date with market news
- A proven track record trading across commodities markets with a deep understanding of complex products and options from either a banking or broking environment
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Understanding of commodities markets regulations
- Quantitative and/or coding skills are an advantage but not essential
- Proactive in achieving results and achieving book targets
- Able to make decisions in a pressured environment
- Degree educated (or the equivalent), preferred (A-Level Chemistry, or the equivalent would be a bonus, but not essential)
