- An exceptional opportunity has arisen within a City-based private bank for a Financial Crime Analyst to strengthen the Risk and Compliance function within the bank and promote a robust financial crime prevention culture. The successful candidate will be working within 2nd line of defence and as such, will support and liaise with 1st line of defence stakeholders to assess and enhance current controls.
The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong awareness and experience in financial crime prevention activities, including Anti Money Laundering, Fraud, Data Security and Market Abuse aligned with Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and other regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the provision of advice, guidance and support to stakeholders in respect of financial crime related queries and the application of related policies
- Conduct 2nd line of defence testing to contribute to the development and ongoing maintenance of the financial crime risk assessment coordination and oversight.
- Implement changes as a result of monitoring findings to enhancing controls, test procedures and processes.
- Contribute to financial crime MI for use at senior management meetings
- Representing the bank at industry events and forums, feeding back to stakeholders ensuring that the bank is abreast of financial crime prevention trends
- Delivering financial crime prevention training to staff
- Support AML function, as required
Applicants will have strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise with staff at all levels and demonstrate a collaborative approach to work. You will have a proven track record in delivering improvements across financial crime prevention with previous experience of change delivery / engagement & collaboration initiatives. Previous financial crime prevention experience gained within a financial services company is ESSENTIAL to this role. Private banking exposure would be highly desirable, although not essential.
