- An exciting new opportunity has arisen at a global speciality insurance company based in the City for TWO Internal Auditors. The successful candidates will be either qualified or part-qualified in a recognised professional accounting qualification and want to progress their career in audit. Whilst experience gained in an insurance company would be ideal, this role could also suit somebody with experience gained in a large accountancy practice.
Reporting to the Internal Audit Manager, you will be responsible for conducting independent reviews of a variety of operational entities across the business, through the delivery audit assignments – offering you great exposure.
You will be responsible for effective, complete audit planning, fieldwork and reporting across operational areas as follows:
- Conducting research into assigned audit area, identifying the appropriate audit scope, identifying key risks and controls and possible regulatory requirements
- Document walkthroughs of key processes
- Assess the control design, prepare testing plans, conduct testing and produced detailed analysis and evaluation to assess the operation of controls
- Prepare audit reports that accurately summarise the most significant control weaknesses, unmitigated risks and resulting impacts to the firm, and co-ordinate development of action plans.
- Identify improvement opportunities in business processes, proposing changes and making recommendations
- Perform regular monitoring in accordance with the audit plan and taking responsibility for the follow-up of outstanding audit recommendations
To be successful in this Internal Auditor position, some of the requirements include:
- Prior Audit experience in an insurance firm or accountancy practice
- Full or Part qualified (ACA, ACCA, CA, CPA or CMA)
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to build a good rapport and be a team player
- Internal audit qualification (CIIA, CIA, CISA) or working towards one would be highly desirable
- Good understanding of control concepts, IT matters; and an ability to quickly understand new operations or proposals
- Willingness to travel
