- City-based international bank is looking for a Procurement and Vendor Management Officer to join them on a contractual basis of 12 months. The role will suit an individual who is a confident negotiator with strong communication and influencing skills, someone who understands business requirements and can present at all levels.
The purpose of the role will be to build upon the existing procurement structure and identify opportunities for efficiencies and simplification and delivery cost-saving opportunities.
Within this role you will be responsible for:
- Playing a key role in the delivery of organisational change and process improvement in order to drive operational efficiencies and increase value
- Establishing relationships with stakeholders and act as key advisor for future procurement activities
- Ensuring the bank remains compliant with regulatory guidelines (PRA EBA) with regard to third party outsourcing
- Providing support and guidance to staff regarding procurement
- Overseeing formal supplier negotiations
- Supplier improvement plans and holding suppliers accountable to deliver exceptional service levels.
- Managing and identifying procurement and operational risks, ensuring that these are assessed and appropriately controlled/mitigated.
- Establishing supplier monitoring procedures and developing Key Performance Metrics to ensure the ongoing assessment of the bank’s procurement activities
- Keeping abreast of industry standards and best practice
- Preparing and monitoring budgets
To be successful in this role you need:
- Membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply, or the equivalent.
- A strong understanding of the principles, practices and regulations related to supply chain management and outsourcing as well as continuous improvement methodologies
- Ability to work within fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of supply market research methods, and evaluation methods used to assess the value of goods and services. Experience in overseeing competitive bid analysis.
- Confident in juggling numerous projects / tasks.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Desire for continuous improvement and passionate about building and maintaining supplier relationships.
