- An exciting opportunity has arisen within an International Banking group in Manchester for a Relationship / Lending Manager to manage and develop a portfolio of corporate finance / commercial real estate finance business.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and developing strong business relationships with existing and prospective customers and will be responsible for the full credit structuring process to include preparing credit proposals and carrying out periodic credit reviews. To be considered for this role, candidates must have a strong knowledge of the UK corporate finance / commercial real estate finance business.
Duties will include:
- Monitor designated loan portfolio and develop new business
- Prepare credit proposals
- Liaise with the Risk Team during pre-approval stage on credit risk related matters
- Submit customer's credit facility proposal in a timely manner and ensure the facility drawdown process is coordinated and completed
- Liaise with Loans Team post-approval
- Build relationships with intermediaries and third parties (solicitors, valuers, brokers, accountants etc.)
- Prepare credit review reports on a regular basis
- Develop strategies, tactics and action plans so as to achieve key performance targets
- Supervision of junior members of staff
Requirements for the role:
- An excellent knowledge of the UK Property market
- A proven track record of managing and cultivating a corporate finance / commercial real estate loan portfolio
- Solid experience in producing credit proposals, memos and financial analysis
- Ability to propose and negotiate credit and covenant structures and loan documentation
- Educated to degree level, or the equivalent
- Detailed understanding of general banking law / UK banking practice and relevant regulation.
Chinese Mandarin or Chinese Cantonese language skills would be desirable although not essential.
