Due to an increase in business activity, a leading International Banking Group is seeking to recruit a Trade Finance Officer to join their team. The candidate will be responsible for processing Trade Finance transactions in Operations by providing support to business lines and ensuring workflows run efficiently and in adherence to controls and procedures. A strong technical understanding of Trade Finance products is essential, as well as experience with Commodity Trade Finance.
Duties of the Trade Finance Officer to include:
- Ensuring transactions are all processed and settled in a timely basis, prioritizing particularly critical or time-sensitive files whilst adhering to SLA’s.
- Responsible for import and export Trade Finance duties, including Letters of Credit.
- Demonstrating a high attention to detail whilst applying HO Procedures, local procedures, key controls and governing rules.
- Ensure that all internal reporting requirements are met, and supporting other initiatives and projects as and when required.
- Cross train other members of the team to improve the team’s ability to mold to requirements of a multi business stream environment.
Requirements for the successful Trade Finance Officer:
- Deep understanding of all Trade Finance products, including guarantees, collections, discounting, forfaiting etc.
- Knowledge of UCP 600, ISP98, URDG 758, URC 522 and other relevant ICC publications
- Experience with commodities is essential, and working experience gained within a bank highly desirable.
