Due to exciting business growth within the region, a fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a leading professional services company in London as they seek a Communications Associate to assist the Head of Japan with their professional communications and Public Relations. This role will involve developing and executing communication strategies that enhance our clients' reputation and influence in the Japanese market. The role sits within a friendly and supportive team, and provides an exciting and dynamic opportunity. The successful candidate must be fluent in Japanese and English, and possess a strong background in strategic communications, public relations, and stakeholder engagement.

Duties of the Communications Associate to include:

  • Develop and implement strategic communication plans tailored to clients' needs in Japan.
  • Craft compelling narratives and messaging for various channels, including press releases, social media, speeches, and presentations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and influencers in Japan.
  • Monitor and analyse media coverage and public sentiment, providing actionable insights to clients.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent and effective communication across all platforms.
  • Support crisis communication efforts, providing timely and effective responses to emerging issues.
  • Conduct research and analysis on industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory developments in Japan.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to clients, demonstrating strategic thinking and deep market understanding.

Requirements for the successful Communications Associate to include:

  • Educated to Undergraduate Degree level in a related field.
  • Fluent English and Japanese language skills is essential
  • Local UK experience is highly desirable
  • At least 5 years’ experience working in communications and/or PR experience within regulated industries
  • Previous experience working within professional services is essential
