A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a proactive and detail-oriented Junior Payments Officer to join a highly regarded international bank in London. This entry-level role is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to launch their career in a dynamic and critical area of finance. You will work closely with experienced subject matter experts (SMEs) to support large-scale payment projects, helping to ensure the quality and successful delivery of our payment solutions.
This position is ideal for someone who is eager to learn and has a keen interest in payments technology and innovation. You will be provided with comprehensive training and mentorship to develop your technical and functional knowledge.
Duties of the Payments Officer role to include:
- Support the testing of SEPA and cross-border payment systems under the guidance of senior SMEs.
- Assist in preparing and executing test cases, meticulously recording results and identifying defects.
- Collaborate with project teams, SMEs, and vendors to ensure smooth testing cycles.
- Develop a deep understanding of core payment schemes, including SEPA and SWIFT.
- Participate in defect triage meetings and follow up on issues until they are resolved.
- Contribute to test documentation, reporting, and progress tracking.
- Bring a fresh perspective to help identify and implement process improvements.
Requirements for the successful Payments Officer to include:
- 1 year of experience in a payments-related role, such as operations, a clerk, or a support position.
- No prior testing experience is required; training and mentorship will be provided.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Enthusiastic and eager to learn, with a proactive approach to asking questions.
- Basic familiarity with Excel and an advantage if you have experience with test management tools like Jira or Confluence.
- A graduate degree in a related field is a plus, but not essential.
