- Description
- We have a number of clients across the home counties (Hertfordshire, Kent, Hampshire) in the development finance, bridging, Buy-to-Let, commercial mortgages and 2nd charge loans space who are recruiting for Underwriting Team Leaders.
The successful candidates will have overall responsibility for Lending decisions and will play a key role in the ongoing mentoring and development of the Underwriting team. Candidate MUST have experience with leading a team AND have experience in property lending, particularly development finance, bridging finance and commercial lending.
Duties to include:
- Ensure that underwriting produced by the team is to a consistently high standard, resolving technical queries.
- Establish a customer-centric culture within the team, ensure the service is consistently high both internally and externally. Handling queries or complaints. Manage workflow of the team.
- Ensure that all compliance policies and regulations adhered to, reviewing manuals regularly.
- Responsible for the ongoing development of the team providing training as required, conducting 1-2-1’s, appraisals, performance management etc.
- Liaising with internal departments (Legal, Risk and Sales) and intermediaries.
