- Description
- City based Private Bank requires a first-class cashier to join them on a 6-month contractual basis. The successful candidate will be responsible carrying out all cashiering functions including dealing with customers' cash deposits and withdrawals, balancing till, monitoring cash levels and agreeing cash in tills and strong room. Duties to include:
- Preparing special delivery cash orders.
- Cheque handling including the cancellation of the inward debit clearing, looking for fraud, dealing with special presentations and also accepting remittances over the counter. Involves written (standard letter), telephone and face to face communication with customers and other banks
- Dealing with inward and outward unpaid cheques to the agreed deadlines.
- Taking, preparing and arranging collection/delivery of currency orders. Monitoring stock levels and arranging settlement with suppliers via CHAPS, balancing the till and completing end of day routines.
- Dealing with general enquires from customers calling at the counter and via telephone.
- Receiving and executing customers' requests to place stops on cheques.
- Preparation of sterling bankers drafts, which includes verification and checking balances and account details.
- Act as payments inputter/checker/releaser as authorised.
To be considered for this role applicants MUST demonstrate previous relevant cashiering experience gained within a Banking environment. Candidates should have a professional manner and appearance with a customer focussed approach and excellent communication skills. Applicants must be able to commit to a 6 month contract.
