- An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced SENIOR UNDERWRITER to join one of the fastest growing ‘Challenger’ banking groups based in London. The successful candidate will operate as the gatekeeper for the quality of lending decisions, underwriting all new Commercial Mortgage applications in line with the company lending policy (commercial, semi-commercial, HMO, Bridging, Buy-to-let).
Duties to include:
- Underwrite and improve loans against agreed lending criteria.
- Handling broker calls on specific cases under review; manage customer expectations.
- Carry out site visits to potential and current customers, assessing their processes and ensuring they’re financially sound.
- Liaising with internal departments (Legal, Risk and Sales) and external parties (Surveyors, Solicitors and Customer) to effectively manage the lending process.
- Supporting the monitoring, review, analysis and reporting of credit risk at a case and portfolio level.
Candidates MUST have extensive experience underwriting Commercial Mortgage applications. Any additional underwriting experience gained within specialist Business Finance, i.e. for block discounting, would be advantageous.
