- An exciting opportunity has arisen for a SENIOR TRADE FINANCE SPECIALIST to join a prestigious and expanding banking group based in London. The incumbent will join the trade finance department, managing documentary flow of trade transactions and day-to-day risk-management. They will also aid the fast-growing team, strengthening internal processes and development. Candidates must be able to demonstrate strong experience in all aspects of trade finance particularly from a banking environment.
Duties will include:
- Assisting with due diligence on new transactions
- Assist on each transaction from inception to finalisation, including the management of all documentation
- Interacting with clients and third parties
- Coordinating transactions with the import and export parties, freight forwarder and corresponding banks
- Updating transaction databases
- Frequent reporting of status of each transaction under management
- Partaking in designing and implementing new systems, including reporting processes where possible
Desired skills:
- Systems: SWIFT, UCP600, URC522, Incoterms, MS Office Suite, spreadsheet applications
- Experience checking documents, discounting bills, negotiating documents under documents under letters of credit, transfer of letters of credit and assignment of proceeds, pre & post shipment finances, payments, collections, reimbursements and reconciliations
- Thorough communication skills and strong attention to detail
- African trade finance experience preferred
