- An exceptional opportunity has arisen within a global insurance company based in the City for a Group Data Protection Officer with experience in dealing with data protection and privacy compliance gained within a Insurance / Financial Services environment. This is a position with group-wide responsibilities (UK and Europe) that reports to General Counsel.
The successful applicant will be responsible for monitoring compliance with GDPR and other data protection regulations (internal and external) as well as providing guidance and advising staff on data protection responsibilities, regulatory requirements and relevant privacy laws.
Duties to include:
- Responding to subject access requests
- Provide advice to the business on data protection obligations, monitoring of DPIAs
- Liaising with relevant authorities and reporting where required, managing breach notifications and resolving data breaches and acting as the main point of contact for the ICO
- Ensuring the Bank's compliance policies meet regulatory stipulations and are implemented and adhered to throughout the Bank, this may be through providing training, disseminating information etc.
- Responsibility for driving data privacy compliance across the business and raising awareness
In addition to the above candidates must be skilled in providing risk-based advice with the ability to deliver information to a range of audiences and handling data subjects rights requests. You will understand how to build, implement and manage data protection programmes and demonstrate an excellent understanding of the applicable data protection laws (including the GDPR) covering UK and Europe. Certified DPO or GDPR Practitioner preferred.
