- Description
- Leading international bank based in the City requires a Payments Supervisor to join them on a temporary basis of 6-12 months. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the successful running of the Payments Team and will have proven experience of authorising domestic payments, therefore some managerial / supervisory experience is ESSENTIAL to this role.
You will be responsible for:
- Authorising, checking and verifying the day-to-day processing of payments manually and on systems
- Assisting with some system testing
- Training junior members of staff
- Prioritize the teams workflow - ensure all cut-off times are adhered to
- Ensure operational risks are identified and reported to the Manager
- Ensuring all transactions are processed accurately and to deadlines (by SWIFT, SEPA, BACS)
- Identify and escalate all systems and processing issues to Manager
- Investigation of queries and resolution of errors
- Collaborate with the Treasury and Dealing teams to ensure processing efficiency
- Control of nostro outstanding, controlling the cash funding process
To be considered for this exciting new opportunity applicants MUST have previous supervisory experience gained within Back office / payments processing environment. Candidates must be able demonstrate a detailed knowledge of inward and outward clearing procedures to include SWIFT and SEPA payments.
