- Our client, a City-based Hedge Fund is looking to recruit a Chief Investment Officer to help with the early stage set up, launch and development of the fund. The company prides itself on cutting edge research tools in order to deliver superior returns.
The post of CIO is a varied role that will have exposure to regulators in the US.
Please note, that applicants must be available to start with short notice periods to serve (c. 4 weeks). Due to the nature of the position / company there will be no option to work from home, this will be an entirely office-based role
Main responsibilities:
- Serve as senior investment executive in all aspects of investment and portfolio management for the fund, from deal flow to execution
- Market the fund to investors to support fund raising efforts
- Create and implement a thorough investment process
- Provide support to traders
- Work closely with the research and strategy division for implementing the proprietary strategies
- Review trader performance on a regular basis
- Validate the individual investment mandates provided by the research and strategy division
- Implement strategies across the exposure trading desks, portfolio management desks and unhedged trading desks
Candidate requirements:
- 10+ years investment experience with at least 5 years in a similar, leadership role
- Knowledge of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, Dodd–Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, MIFID, MIFID II, other ESMA regulations, FCA PERG
- High degree of interpersonal, analytical and communication skills, together with effective project management skills
- Ability to think laterally and adapt to changing circumstances in a dynamic environment
- Ability to travel internationally, as required
- A proven track record in raising funds
- Strong experience of Stats Arb, Marcro Alternative and multi-strategy investment strategies
