Description
City-based international bank is seeking to recruit a Trade Finance Operations Manager to join them on an 8-month fixed term contract. The purpose of this role will be to work on a process improvement piece for Trade Finance Operations and supporting the operations transition. Applicants should demonstrate a strong knowledge forfaiting and receivables finance.
 
What you will be doing:
 
  • Forfaiting & Receivables:
    • Review completion of all transaction documentation received to ensure that transactions purchased are suitable for onward sale
    • Provide guidance to the team and technical assistance where necessary
    • Manage and oversee complex transactions including structuring of Facility Agreements and Master Risk Participations Agreements
    • Check receivables drawdown requests
    • Ensure accurate records are kept
    • Check rate fixing and calculations for discounts/ drawdowns / rollovers etc.
    • Check nostro reconciliations to ensure outstanding items for Forfaiting and Receivables are actioned
  • Assisting and supporting with process improvement for Letter of Credits, Guarantees, Commodities, Forfaiting & Receivables Team.
  • Supporting the implementation of new systems within the team, creating functional specifications for new systems and processes
  • Reviewing operating policies and procedures, ensuring the team are providing a high level of administration and service to customers
  • Liaising closely with team members, clients, relationship managers / marketing / account officers, and other departments of the Bank where necessary
  • Providing support to the paperless project
  • Cooperating with audit requests
 
Requirements for the role:
 
  • Experience managing and motivating a high-performing team within Trade Finance Operations
  • Deep knowledge of Trade Finance products – in particular Forfaiting and Receivables Finance
  • Knowledge of operational policies and procedures with the ability to provide timely solutions to problems
  • Familiarity with UCP, Geneva Convention and Bill of Exchange Act.
