An exciting opportunity has arisen within a well-established international banking group in Central London for a Retail Banking Operations Clerk. You would be working under the Central Operations and Settlement Department, assisting with the banking operations, and day-to-day running of the premises. This is an incredibly varied role, and would suit an enthusiastic candidate who is seeking to develop their banking career, and who is keen to get involved and assist with a variety of tasks.
Duties will include:
- Performing a variety of banking operations, including cheque book clearing, issuing credit cards and issuing payments.
- Assisting with issues relating to the organisation’s clearing bank. This could include enquiries about transactions, open credit facility maintenance and other ad hoc projects when required.
- Drafting and reviewing policy and procedure documents that fall within the responsibility of the Banking Operations team.
- Assisting with ad hoc projects and providing cover to other teams’ officers and to team management when required. For example, covering Settlement input.
- Assisting with the day-to-day running of the premises. Amongst other duties, this will involve liaising with external contractors when handling maintenance matters, the procurement of office supplies, and assisting with health & safety and fire safety oversight.
Requirements for the role:
- Educated to at least A Level standard
- Confident using Microsoft Office; Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Previous banking experience (preferably with Settlements and clearing banks)
- Adaptable, self-motivated and keen to get involved.
