Due to exciting growth and expansion, a leading boutique Private Bank is seeking a Payments Officer to join their team on a 12 month fixed term contract. You will be responsible for manually processing a high volume of payments, including Faster Payments, CHAPS, SEPA, SWIFT etc. You will be specialising with Sterling payments, and will be joining a well-established team within an exceptional working environment. It is essential that candidates have experience processing a high volume of manual payments.
Duties of the Payment Officer to include:
- Direct debit and standing order processing, letter writing and origination.
- Manual keying of Faster payments, CHAPS, SEPA, international payments as well as responsible for the manual repair of payments.
- Monitoring sanctions screening
- Manual keying of SWIFT MT messages (previous working experience with SWIFT highly advantageous).
- Communicating with correspondent banks and their intermediaries to ensure payments are completed.
Requirements for the successful Payment Officer candidate:
- At least 2 years’ experience working with payments in financial services is essential
- Knowledge of SWIFT, CHAPS, SEPA, BACS, Faster Payments
- Ability to process a high volume of manual payments
- Good customer service manner, and ability to work well within a team environment.
