Due to exciting business growth, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join the Finance & Control team at a highly prestigious private bank, based in the heart of London. This role offers the chance to work on complex financial instruments and treasury portfolios, playing a key part in delivering accurate statutory reporting and supporting critical finance processes within a dynamic banking environment.
Duties of the Financial Accountant to include:
- Prepare and maintain accurate statutory accounts and financial statements in line with accounting standards (FRS 102).
- Lead year-end processes, including audit preparation and acting as a key liaison with external auditors.
- Manage accounting for financial instruments, including bonds and derivatives, ensuring compliance with technical standards.
- Support Treasury on two main portfolios and contribute to financial control and product control activities.
- Maintain and enhance ledger systems, ensuring data integrity and operational efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial reporting and control processes.
- Use data tools to support analysis and reporting (SQL experience highly desirable).
Requirements for the successful Financial Accountant to include:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with 6–8 years’ experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards and financial instruments.
- Proven experience in statutory reporting, audit coordination, and treasury-related activities.
- Background in banking or financial services preferred.
- Hands-on experience with ledger systems and monthly reporting cycles.
- Ability to work proactively and independently, with excellent communication skills.
- Desired: Experience with SQL or other data analytics tools.
