Due to exciting business growth, our client, a leading international bank based in the heart of central London, is seeking a Finance Operations Officer to join their Finance team. Reporting to the Finance Operations Manager, this role is a fantastic opportunity for an organised and quick-learning professional to manage the daily accuracy of the bank’s General Ledger and assist with key regulatory submissions.
Candidates MUST be part-qualified and have banking experience, and will ideally have system implementation experience.
Duties of the Finance Officer to include:
Financial Control & Daily Processing
- General Ledger & Reconciliations: Perform daily GL account reconciliations and update daily bank reconciliations, proactively clearing any outstanding items.
- Transaction Processing: Prepare invoice entries and process supplier payments via the Faster Payment system.
- Daily Operations: Authorise daily T24 entries, pass daily entries for Debit Cards, and confirm payment of Lloyds Clearing Cheques.
- Staff Support: Provide essential support to staff regarding daily operational work and resolve ad hoc queries from other departments.
Reporting & Compliance
- Head Office Reporting: Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports for Head Office.
- Regulatory Submissions: Prepare the daily Liquidity Coverage Ratio (LCR) report and assist with monthly and quarterly Bank of England (BoE) reporting.
- Taxation: Prepare quarterly VAT returns for all branches and subsidiaries.
- Risk & Compliance: Adhere to all established risk control guidelines and regulations to identify, assess, and monitor risks in day-to-day work.
Requirements for the successful Finance Officer include:
- Candidates MUST have several years of practical experience working within a banking organisation.
- Candidates will be part-qualified (at a minimum)
- Candidates must be educated to degree level or equivalent
- Candidate will preferably hold a Bookkeeping Certificate.
- Strong Excel skills are essential; experience with Power BI is highly ideal.
- Candidates will preferably have experience on new system implementation and able to drive change together with the team.
