Description
Global City-based financial services organisation is seeking to recruit a Senior Project Manager with Securities experience (Corporate Actions or Custody) to join them on a fixed term contract of 12 months to assist with the delivery of their Securities offering. Drawing upon your experience of successfully leading projects within similar financial services organisations you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of the project, from inception through to handover of the platform for the business. Applicants, therefore, must have extensive project/program management experience in managing teams and/or projects as well as experience in running securities-based projects with particular focus on; Custody, Corporate Actions and Global Custody Solutions.
 
Your purpose will be to ensure constant alignment with stakeholders on project scope and priorities and facilitate discussions between PMO, project stakeholders and third-party technology partners to assess best options for delivery of the product within agreed times, whilst balancing quality and cost parameters.
 
Your key responsibilities:
 
  • Engage with key stakeholders to identify project objectives and the key products to be delivered.
  • Leveraging your Securities experience make certain that key deliverable items required for a successful go live are identified, recorded and presented as key project requirements.
  • Develop project specifications, agree the project plan baseline, including scope, key activities, deliverables, resource requirements, milestones and deadlines.
  • Working alongside the PMO to utilise project tools; Jira, Product Plan and Confluence to maintain, monitor and report on all related project activities.
  • Ensure regular, clear and concise communication and expectation management with stakeholders to build confidence and trust.
  • Ensure members of the project team are informed, are set clear and achievable project tasks while working collaboratively with stakeholders, vendors and clients to achieve planned outcomes.
  • Drive project execution, track delivery, identify and mitigate risks before they become issues, own change management.
  • With the assistance of the PMO ensure information is accurately recorded in the appropriate systems and project reports, as per agreed reporting mechanism is made available to the relevant parties.
  • Ensure company-standard project governance, to ensure consistency of approach and efficient use of resources.
  • Conduct reviews to assess project outcomes and to identify and record lessons learned.
  • Contribute to the provision of documentation for new and improved processes, products and services, with remit to establish good project practice throughout the organisation.
 
Your skills and experience:
 
  • Extensive project/program management experience in managing teams or projects.
  • Experience in running securities-based projects with particular focus on; Custody, Corporate actions and Global Custody Solutions.
  • Extensive experience of the key project methodologies; Waterfall, Agile and Scrum
  • Sound knowledge of project management related software; including JIRA, Confluence and Product plan.
  • Skill and confidence in dealing with senior management stakeholders and geographically diverse teams.
  • Strong listening, presentation, communication, negotiating and influencing skills
  • Ability to use own judgement based on analysis and experience to make sound project and business decisions.
 
Applicants will be Degree educated, with a relevant project qualification;  Prince2, Agile for Prince2. An ITIL or Scrum based qualification would be desirable but not essential.
