- An exciting new opportunity has arisen at a global speciality insurance company based in the City for an Internal Audit Manager. Reporting to the Head of Internal Audit as a member of a team of three, you will be responsible for conducting independent reviews of various operational entities across the business. Throughout the audit process you will be required to establish the level of compliance of the entity's operations, the level of risk incurred, the enforcement of procedures and the effectiveness of the control set up and feedback your findings to the CRO.
In supporting the Head of Internal Audit, you will be required to maintain the company’s internal audit procedures ensuring they adhere to professional standards and draft the risk-based annual Internal Audit Plan taking care that it encompasses the areas relevant to the company’s operations and reflects the risk profile of the firm.
You will be responsible for:
- Preparation of audit programmes and comprehensive audit reports
- Taking the lead to ensure the timely and successful delivery of tasks in support of the audit plan
- Evaluating the effectiveness of risk management and control
- Recommending appropriate measures to improve efficiency and then monitoring the implementation of these improvements
- Regular MI reporting to the Internal Audit and Risk Committees
Experience and Skills Required:
- Relevant professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CA, CPA or CMA)
- Internal audit qualification (CIIA, CIA, CISA) or working towards one would be highly desirable
- Senior level experience working at an insurer / reinsurer, and/or knowledge of the Lloyd's Market
- Sound technical abilities with a thorough understanding of IIA standards
- Good understanding of control concepts, IT matters; and an ability to quickly understand new operations or proposals
- Proven record of delivering multiple, complex, end to end audits
- Ability to build and develop relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- Willingness to travel (COVID restrictions permitting)
